2019 Capturing Moments

WEEK 1
We began the New Year with the 2019 Flamingo 5K Run on NSB. Chris, Josh and Raymond all placed in their divisions. I was family photographer for the day!

Well, if we are scaring off the Squirrels – now it’s a random Cat. Never seen him before
yesterday. I’ve currently moved my seed feeders to the back of the RV. So far that has worked.

We needed rain and finally got some! I was able to get a picture of the actual drops falling!
I know it appears these are on the camera lens, but they are actually falling!
They were huge!!!!

Springtime at home and the mower and bush hog are working hard, under Raymond’s supervision/control. LOL

It’s been one week since I was cleared to exercise again by the cardio doc….and I’ve walked
5 out of 7 days….over 10 miles….at a brisk pace. One day, I took my camera and
had some fun with small “Ruddy Turnstones” – yep that’s their name!

Finally, afternoon Storms in FL. Long overdue, so we’ll see if this breaks the drought patterns we’ve seen since early Spring.

Beautiful fields of crops and newborns! Pretty sure every Amish field had newborns in it.
They were everywhere!!! Just so cute!!!!

We arrived home after a 16 hour drive! Got some of the grass mowed. Got moved into our normal RV pad and that afternoon I looked out and spotted these two! So great to have such wonderful wildlife wandering our property!

We had the pleasure of The Dixon’s coming to visit us this past week. The week went by way to quickly. Tried a place we’ve never been: Corkscrew Bar & Grill in downtown NSB.

While mowing Raymond found Turtle Eggs. This little guy showed up wandering around our yard eating grasses and tender green leaves. He was the size of my palm.

While sitting under the Awning while it rains, I couldn’t help but think of my friend, Susan and I picking Oranges in March of this year. We froze the Sour Orange in Ice Cube Trays and anything else we could find….and I’ve been using those all year to make MoJo Sauce, added directly to chicken stock, and Margarita’s. We’ll have plenty of Oranges to do that again, early in 2020.

One of our Resident Hawks landed on the RV hanger for my Bird Feeder.

Some clean waves sets at NSB today! HAHA – So, it’s been such a long time since I added pictures to my Blog – I guess I’ve got to mess up the first one! As it turns out, I should have used the last week of August! This picture is the last week of July! So below is the picture from the last week of August.


The Real Week 35
Dragon Fruit blooms open around Midnight. It’s such as treat to watch as each petal suddenly opens!
WEEK 36
We are on the road again with another RV Adventure to Colorado! We stopped at Tom Sawyer RV Park, West Memphis, AR for 4 nights. These ‘flying aces’ flew over almost everyday while we were there.

Frantz Lake Wildlife Area, Salida, CO
We arrived Bighorn RV Park, Coaldale, CO for 11 nights. We are about 1.5 hours South of Castle Rock, CO where 2 of the kids live.

Never really thought much about parking in the Mtns of Colorado and the threat of wildfires. This one had been burning for 2 weeks, 9 miles N of Salida.
Still Week 38
We were able to meet Josh and Lora for a short hike near the cute Colorado town of
OLD COLORADO CITY, CO.
WEEK 38
Still. Such a fun filled week near Coaldale, CO. At the suggestion of Heidi and Robert, we decided to drive a couple of hours S of Coaldale and spend the day at the Great Sand Dunes Natl Park. It took a while and many, many breaks to climb to the top! Such a FUN time!
WEEK 39
We have arrived Cherry Creek State Park, Aurora, CO. Lora recently moved here, so I was able to spend a Day at the Denver Zoo with her. What a FUN Day!

We drove up in the Mtns around Conifer, CO. 1 day later these leaves were gone from high winds and a little snow.

We have been near the kids home for 2 weeks and have now moved to Chatfield State Park, Littleton, CO. Vanessa had weekly Coed Soccer games…always a treat to see her play and win the ball against the guys.

Kathy (Bill) Heath are in same park; so Kathy and I started walking daily; even in the Snow (a 1 day event).

Our first stay at a Harvest Host, while we travel East with Bill & Kathy Heath.
WEEK 44
We arrived at Brazos Valley RV Park on 24 October. Had a wonderful dinner with Bill and Kathy before they departed to Lake Jackson to visit their Son. We will be in Caldwell, TX 11 nights. So we visited TX A&M Teaching Gardens on their Beautiful Campus. Barbara and Jerry came up to visit us on the 28th and we toured Blue Bell Factory in Brenham. And, long time friends from Jacksonville, Ed & Margaret met us in Navasota. Fun Times!

Vermillion Living History Museum, Lafayette, LA
Another Harvest Host stop for us. We decided to relax and tour the Museum before leaving! No enough time to see it all, since we wanted to leave by 1pm.

We are like “horses drawn to a barn” – we left Lafayette LA around 2pm on 4 November – listening to a good Audio Book and didn’t stop until we got to Lowe’s, Lake City, FL – around 2AM. Got a few hours sleep, some coffee and pastry at Starbucks next door and arrived home around 115pm Wednesday 6 November.
WEEK 46
We have been home a week. Caught up on mowing and cleaning up the yard, in general.
Two different days we’ve had about 6 Chickens wandering the yard, today this is the only one to come by.

Female Painted Bunting has returned. A little earlier than last year!

ULA launched a rocket at 536am, so I was up for that. Decided to drive over to the River and catch the Sunrise.
