Lake Louise and Views from Lake Louise (Trailer) Campground

Some Mountain Climbing going on.   An hour later when we came back by this area, she was still up there.  Made me feel tired watching her.   LOL

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.  Rooms start at $750

Beautiful Lake Louise

As we left Lake Louise Drive, we saw this Porcupine.

WOW, Look at his claws!

The Avalanche Waiting To Happen!   It did not before we left.

Views from the campground!

ALASKA BOUND!

Off we go!   We left Rollins, Montana this morning and entered Canada at Roosville.   No delays or problems at the border.    Along Canada 93 I kept seeing these unusual white flowers shaped like Garlic Bulbs on top of a long stalk and then it opens.    Hoping to ID it and I’ll edit this post.

Of course, I’m finally getting around to posting on 27 June!   Better late than never, I guess.    To date, I have not found the name of these plants.    Today is also our oldest’s Birthday:   Happy Birthday, Chris.   Can’t believe we have a Son that is 33.    Where did the time go?

WOW, what a view?

We decided to Boondock for the night.   Several boondock sights we were told about were closed, so we decided to stop a Coy Hill Rest Area.   Next to Columbia Lake.   A nice, fairly level rest area!

Lots of Wild Roses everywhere!

On The Road Again!

Raymond and I are on the road to Alaska.    After a delay leaving TN and a very slow trek North,  we crossed the Canada border at Sault Ste Marie on 31 May 2016.   It’s been hard for me to get back into blogging, so I figured I’d start simple.

This Robin found his own private water supply and the site next to us in Perrysburg, OH. He returned many times!

Pardon the blog structure – it is under construction.  Hoping to simplify the way it looks and make easy searching for campgrounds, etc.

Cherry Creek State Park, Denver, CO

We left Buena Vista on 24 September.   CCSP was a few hours away.   We’ll be staying 2 weeks in the state park so we purchase an annual pass ($70) – and even with that added to cost of campgrounds the per day rate was great.   100′ pull through sites, FHU.  We were behind some trees so we had trouble with reception on the satellite….OTHER than that we will return to this park.   It was great.    Running trails all over.   And 4 miles from Vanessa and Sergei.     YAY!!!!!01-DSC_0015 02-DSC_0020 03-DSC_0023 04-DSC_0025 05-DSC_0027 06-DSC_0028 07-DSC_0031 08-DSC_0032 09-DSC_0054 10-DSC_0063 He caught some dinner! 12-DSC_0078 13-DSC_0083 14-DSC_0089 15-DSC_0094 16-DSC_0095 17-DSC_0097

2014 Autumn Color Run Half Marathon, Buena Vista, CO

As many of you know, Raymond and I are running (I’m walking) half marathons around the country.   We hope to do all 50 States Halves…FL, AK, and now CO are done!!!!  Next is the Rock N Roll Half in San Antonio on 7 December with my brother/sis in law Jerry/Barbara.

Buena Vista was especially challenging since it began at 9600′ elevation and ended at 7800′.   But we finished.    Our daughter, Vanessa, joined us from Denver..as well as her boyfriend, Sergei…he was injured so he didn’t run it.   But, he surprised us at different points along the 13.1 miles – taking pictures!!!!     NICE!!!!

We rode a school bus to the start line, since there was about 4 places to park up there.  I remembered quickly why I didn’t like to ride school buses in school.  hahahaha

At this point, it was 75 degrees, no shade….way too hot for a race like this.    Wasn’t sure I would be able to finish.   OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

When I recovered from the race, we had an early dinner at Eddyline Brewing.  Appetizer:

Pheasant and Chicken, Wild Boar with Apricot, Smoked Buffalo, Elk & Jalapeno, and Jackelope and Habenero.
